Passenger Rights

You can read about your rights as a passenger in case of flight delays, cancellations and the like. These rights are governed by European law and are therefore valid when you travel from any European airport.

As a passenger you have the:

  • right to information about a delay, cancellation, etc.
  • right to accommodation (food and drink) in case of delays of at least 2-4 hours from the scheduled departure time.
  • right to compensation if your flight is delayed at least 3 hours - that is, if you arrive at your final destination at least 3 hours after the scheduled arrival.
  • right to rebook your flight or get a refund of your flight ticket in case of cancellation. Rebooking may also result in accommodation (food and drink) and if you have not been notified of a cancellation at least 2 weeks before the planned departure, you may claim compensation.
  • right to compensation from the airline if you are refused boarding. Additionally, you are entitled to have the flight rebooked or get a refund.
  • right to make an appeal (Traffic Authority).
  • right to travel on the same terms as other passengers if you have reduced mobility or have a disability.

Responsibility in case of long delays, deaths, injuries or incorrectly handled luggage is determined by European law and ensures that you always get what you are entitled to.
