News: Direct Route from Aalborg Airport to Nuuk

Incredible travel experiences in the scenic beauty of Greenland have never been easier to reach, as it will be possible from June 2025 to fly directly from Aalborg Airport to the brand-new airport in the capital city, Nuuk. The new non-stop route is offered by the Danish travel agency Ruby Rejser, which will fly travelers from Aalborg twice a week – whether they choose direct flight tickets or an eventful package tour.

For many, the adventurous Greenland is synonymous with unforgettable nature and culture, making it a top destination on their wish list. In the summer of 2025, from June 12 to September 1, it will be easier than ever. The direct flights from Aalborg Airport are taking less than five hours and the tickets are priced within reach for most travelers. The travel agency Ruby Rejser will be launching flights with the Danish airline Airseven on Mondays and Thursdays, heading for Greenland’s capital, Nuuk, offering a wealth of unique and new travel opportunities.

A New Direct Transatlantic Route with Huge Potential

The announcement of the new international airport in Nuuk was a historic event, and to the immense satisfaction of Northern Jutland, it has now enabled a direct route from Aalborg Airport – with enormous potential not just for leisure travelers seeking Arctic experiences, but also for business travelers and cargo transport opportunities.

- At Aalborg Airport we have been working to establish a permanent direct route to Greenland for a while. This year, we have had summer flights to and from Kangerlussuaq with Air Greenland, which have been met with great interest from both leisure travelers and the business community. It is therefore fantastic that, together with Ruby Rejser, we can now offer new direct travel options to and from Nuuk, which as the capital is closely connected to the rest of Greenland. This provides great opportunities to create the perfect Greenlandic travel experience. Additionally, the route offers more flexibility for the business community, and plans are in motion to explore the cargo potential – a development that will be exciting to follow and may help expand the route in the future, states CEO at Aalborg Airport, Niels Hemmingsen.

Airseven will fly on behalf of Ruby Rejser from Aalborg to Nuuk on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:00 AM, arriving before 8:00 AM local time. They will use a 189-seat Boeing 737-800 on the route, with ticket prices starting at just 1.998 DKK one-way.

- Greenland is a destination that many of our guests dream of experiencing, but which has so far been somewhat of a logistical challenge with high transportation costs. With our new direct flights from Aalborg to Nuuk, we are making it more accessible for our guests to explore Greenland without the expensive layovers, states Morten Meyer, Branch Manager at Ruby Rejser, Aalborg.

Unique Travel Experiences in Greenland

Travel opportunities in the North Atlantic have never been greater from Aalborg Airport, where, like the direct routes to the Faroe Islands and Iceland, there are grand natural experiences in store when heading to Greenland. Greenland offers exceptional travel experiences in a spectacular Arctic landscape with icebergs and glaciers. Adventurous travelers can explore the wilderness, go on iceberg safaris, and experience the authentic Inuit culture. It is a place where unforgettable moments arise, and nature's forces come together in an unparalleled harmony – straight out of a fairy tale.
